The Ballet Academy

The Ballet Academy was established in 2010 by Dara Pierce from Clonard in Wexford.  The school presents annual performances at The National Opera House in Wexford and offers optional ISTD / IBDP Ballet exams each year.

The emphasis is on developing confidence in each individual student in order for them to reach their full potential.  The Ballet Academy encourages a love of dance in all its students.  The benefits of taking regular ballet class are many!  Some of these include fitness, musicality, good posture, memory, confidence, co ordination, flexibility, agility, quick thinking, artistry, physical strength & stamina, elevation, social interaction and self discipline!  Ballet also teaches valuable lessons such as working towards goals, both for the individual (exam work) and the class group (end of year shows).  Ballet teaches that hard work and patience help to achieve these goals, hand in hand with the self motivation, self discipline and commitment needed to practice at home in pursuit of the goals.  These are all important skills for ballet students that develop over time and that are transferable to every day life and learning!

All classes at The Ballet Academy are kept to small numbers to ensure individual attention and optimum space for a safe, supportive and fun dance environment!
