The Dara Pierce Ballet Academy was established in 2010 by Dara Pierce from Clonard in Wexford.
The school presents annual performances at The National Opera House in Wexford and offers optional Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet exams each year.
There are also Modern Dance/Jazz classes (Imperial Society of Dance – ISTD) and Contemporary Dance classes on offer at the school.
Dara is interested in cultivating a positive and healthy mindful approach to ballet training, integrating techniques into her classes which she has learnt with Lauren Ritchie’s Mental Skills Training for dance teachers and with the Minding the Gap between dance and mental health group based in USA.
It’s this holistic approach which fosters a mindful dance experience to bring out the confidence and growth in each individual student to reach their potential as people as well as dancers.
This approach supports resilience, self worth, work ethic, respect for individual differences, self awareness, self reflection, and yes Dara believes this can all be encouraged through the medium of ballet education!!
If you would like to develop these life skills in a safe, nurturing, inclusive dance studio then come and join us at the Dara Pierce Ballet Academy! From the moment you step through the studio doors each student will be guided and encouraged towards developing a solid foundation in classical ballet and all the life skills that accompany that in a natural learning process.
All classes are kept to small numbers to ensure a personalised dance education with optimum space for a safe, supportive and fun dance environment!
